Dr. Roger Hamilton was born in Galveston, Texas, in 1941. When he was six years old, his family moved to Washington, D.C., where he attended high school and college. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1967
After completing his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston he became a clinical professor of medicine at UTMB, where he continues to teach today. In 1978, Dr. Hamilton began a private psychiatric practice on the east side of Houston, served on the board of directors of numerous community mental health centers and on the board of directors of a juvenile detention facility.
Dr. Hamilton has been a member of Mensa since 1972 and a member of Mensa International since 1977. He is a certified life coach who began teaching life coaching in 1999 at the invitation of Dallas businessman and philanthropist J.C.
Penney.
